Abstract/Summary

MOLA Northampton was commissioned by Persimmon Homes Midland to carry out an archaeological trial trench evaluation on land at Ashton Road, Roade, Northamptonshire prior to the proposed development of the site. Seventeen trenches were excavated. A large ditch and a gully, both of unknown date were present beneath the car park to the east of Ashton Road. Truncated furrows of former ridge and furrow cultivation were present in the eastern and southern parts of the site. Undisturbed ground levels were present amongst the factory buildings.
