Full Description

{1} Truncated remains of furrows, remnants of the former open field system of agriculture, were recorded in the field to the east of Ashton Road. They were aligned east to west. An undated gully on a similar alignment may have been associated; it is not recorded on maps post-dating inclosure as a field boundary, so appears to pre-date inclosure.

{2} Truncated furrows were recorded across the excavated area on a east to west alignment, incating that they were all part of the same furlong. They were spaced c 7m apart and were very shallow.
