Abstract/Summary

Tree-ring samples were obtained from 396 timbers at Apethorpe Hall, analysis of 322 of these resulting in the successful dating of 289 timbers. Felling dates ranging from the later AD 1460s through to the later 18th century have been identified which, combined with the wider multi-disciplinary research programme undertaken, allow specific areas of the Hall and aassociated buildings to be related to the succession of owners of Apethorpe Hall over three centuries.
