Abstract/Summary

In December 2014, a strip, map and sample excavation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology. Medieval/post-medieval plough furrows were confirmed across the investigated area, demonstrating that the land once formed part of a medieval open field system surrounding the village of Middleton Cheney. With the exception of a modern pit, three rectangular postholes and a service trench, revealed in the north-eastern corner of the site, no other archaeological features were identified.
