Abstract/Summary

MOLA Northampton was commissioned to undertake a programme of archaeological observation at the Church of St Mary, Great Houghton, during groundworks associated with the construction of a small extension between the tower and the west end of the nave and the installation of an Arched Drain in the churchyard. During the excavation of the foundation trenches 14th-century stained glass and pottery sherds were recovered within a levelling layer. Both disarticulated and articulated human remains were encountered.
