Abstract/Summary

The basement of the Menagerie was historically the kitchen to the ornate dining room known as the Saloon above and had exposed brick walls and vaults. In the early 1990s a shell grotto was commissioned by the then owner, Gervase Jackson-Stops. The decor is attributed to Christopher Hobbs.
