Abstract/Summary

This document is an archaeological standing building survey of outbuildings at Lower Farmyard, Thenford, Northamptonshire (SP 51949 41688), commissioned from Archaeological Building Recording Services (ABRS) by Thenhurst Agricultural Ltd in advance of the proposed conversion of the outbuildings to residential use. The outbuildings are mid 19th century in date, built as an additional farmyard, probably for stock rearing to the south of the existing Home Farm. The buildings are simple in design, the northernmost little more than lean to built onto an existing property wall. The southernmost building is an example of a cart shed, built following traditional pattern of facing away from the farmyard. The archive will be retained by ABRS under the temporary site code 2014- LFTN until deposition with Northamptonshire County Council can be arranged.
