Abstract/Summary

A level two photographic building survey was carried out on 16th November 2017 at Ivy Cottage, Pilton, Northamptonshire in advance of building works to the property. Ivy House is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as The Manor House and probably dates from the mid and late C18 and C19. The house consists of regular coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof. Originally a 2-unit plan the house as it stands is now U-shaped. The main front is a 2-window range of sash windows with glazing bars under wooded lintels with a 6-panel door with glazed top-lights, also under wood lintel. There is an ashlar gabled parapet on the left. One bay to the right is probably late C18 with tripartite sash windows under wood lintels. The ashlar gable parapet at this end of the house has a brick stack to right. The mid C18 range to the rear has a central rebuilt brick stack and leaded casements. The interior was not surveyed.
