Abstract/Summary
An historic building survey (Level 2) was undertaken at Cockley Barn, Cockley Road, Farthinghoe, Northamptonshire (SP 54240 40420) between June and August 2016. Commissioned from Cockley Barn Farms (CBF) by Mrs J Jarvis to satisfy a condition attached as a requirement of planning approval to convert the buildings to residential use. The survey studied an outfarm, known locally as Cockley Barn, which is laid out in a regular courtyard U-plan. Located to the north east of the village of Farthinghoe, the current layout of Cockley Barn appears to have been constructed in the mid 19th century but buildings have been recorded on this site since 1812.
