Abstract/Summary

No. 5 Cambridge Street is a Georgian property in Wellingborough which was originally a house before being converted to a shop towards the end of the 19th century. Since 1986 it has been a Grade II listed building, although some of its original character was lost when the shop front was modernised. The building has two storeys and an attic, and internally it is in the latter where the most important features from the 18th century can be found. Externally, the second storey is where most original features can be found. The building is constructed from finely coursed oolitic ironstone from the Finedon area.
