Abstract/Summary

Archaeological excavations were undertaken by MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) on land at Midland Road, Raunds in June and from July to December 2016. The works were undertaken on behalf of CgMs Heritage for Kier Living Eastern. A small Bronze Age cemetery comprising five cremations was found in the eastern area of the site. Medieval settlement evidence was found on the site from the 11th century and included part of a field system with paddocks and enclosures. Part of the site was subsequently used as a manorial farm into the 14th century. Afterwards the site was used for agriculture with ridge and furrow cultivation from the late medieval period.
