Description
{1} The development site occupied an area of land located on the northern edge of Raunds called North End. It was bounded by Midland Road to the south-west and was set back 50m from Brooks Road to the north-west with open farmland lying to the east. Two areas were excavated. A small Bronze Age cemetery comprising five cremations was found in the eastern area of the site. In the western part of the site, Medieval settlement evidence was found from the 11th century and included part of a field system with paddocks and enclosures. Part of this site was subsequently used as a manorial farm into the 14th century. Afterwards the site was used for agriculture with ridge and furrow cultivation from the late medieval period.
