Abstract/Summary
MOLA was commissioned to undertake archaeological mitigation of land on the line of a proposed new access route to HMP Wellingborough. A total area of 0.5ha was investigated, identifying two phases of late Iron Age remains probably dating to the 1st century BC. These consisted of part of a field system comprising two or more boundary ditches, several postholes and two pits. In the second phase a probable sub-rectangular enclosure cut the boundary ditches.
