Abstract/Summary

The building recording determined that the building was a stable. It was built of stone, originally with a cruck roof and this early phase probably dated to the early to mid 18th century. It was suitable for five horses with four stalls, one of them double. Due to the height of a hayloft, two of these animals were probably ponies used to pull the farmer’s trap. The other three might have been waggon or plough horses.
