Abstract/Summary
This report describes the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out by Pre-Construct Archaeology on land at 77 Gold Street, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire (NGR SP 89058 68538) in February 2017. The archaeological work was commissioned by Jayne Ball in response to a planning condition. The aim of the work was to characterise the archaeological potential of the proposed development area. The archaeological evaluation recorded a limited sequence of events predominantly associated with part of a robbed stone wall that was exposed and another feature that was likely cut later, possibly in the medieval or Post medieval period, for the robbing of stone from this wall, as suggested from a small pottery assemblage from this site.
