Abstract/Summary

MOLA was commissioned to undertake an archaeological geophysical of c5ha of land at Newton Road, Higham Ferrers. The survey identified Iron Age to Roman settlement remains, comprising a series of enclosures and roundhouses alongside a boundary ditch. These lay mainly in the northern half of the survey area. The remains are part of a linear settlement which previous archaeological works have shown to extend at least 1km west of the present survey area, beneath the A6 and towards the grounds of Ferrers School.
