Abstract/Summary

MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by Berrys on behalf of their client, Wicksteed Charitable Trust to undertake an archaeological trial trench evaluation on land off Polwell Lane, Barton Seagrave, Northamptonshire. One ditch was recorded near the south boundary of the development site, the pottery recovered from the ditch dates to the medieval period. The alignment of the ditch suggests it may relate to a Scheduled Monument, comprising moated enclosures, fishponds and deserted medieval settlement remains that are site to the immediate west and north-west of the development area.
