Abstract/Summary
Heritage Archaeology was commissioned by Harris McCormack, on behalf of the Bulwick Estate, to provide a Level 2 Historic Building Record for a non-designated historic barn at the Estate Yard, Main Street, Bulwick, Northamptonshire. The work was undertaken to provide a record of the building prior to alteration after consent was given for conversion of the building to a single dwelling. The building recording provides a record of this as a late 18th or early 19th century small store, built for the Bulwick Estate. Potentially its use was for the maintenance of the Estate properties and also possibly carriages or wagons used by the Estate. It is a small, two story building with two storerooms at ground floor, both accessed from the Estate Yard, one with double doors. The first floor is only accessible from an external door at first floor height, possibly by ladder.
