Abstract/Summary
MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by Steve Holton Builders to undertake archaeological works on land north of The Red Lion, Watling Street East, Foster’s Booth, Northamptonshire, prior to the construction of a row of three terrace houses. An initial visit comprised three hand-dug test-pits one of which contained a thin, dark organic layer. A second visit was undertaken during the excavation of the footings which revealed a probable pit containing similar dark and organic matter as recorded in the test-pit. No other features or finds were present.
