Abstract/Summary

Sparse medieval (c12th century) to modern features were found at 8 Harbidges Lane, Long Buckby, Northamptonshire. The site lay at the rear of former backplots which fronted both Harbidges Lane to the east and West Street to the north. The c12th century western plot boundary gully of Harbidges Lane may have been found and this suggests that Harbidges Lane may have been laid out in this period. The low quantity of features recovered from all periods may imply these peripheral backplot areas may have been used for agriculture related activities.
