Abstract/Summary
MOLA and C.L.A.S.P carried out a programme of geophysical survey and aerial drone survey on land at Borough Hill Hillfort, Daventry, Northamptonshire. The survey identified that, despite later disturbance associated with the construction and demolition of radio towers during the 20th century, archaeological remains had survived relatively well across the hilltop. Archaeological remains comprised features associated with the hillfort construction including perimeter ditches, possible entrances and trackways. Additionally evidence for settlement activity dated to the Iron Age and Roman periods was identified. Funerary monuments thought to date to the Bronze Age and Roman periods were also identified in the geophysical data
