Abstract/Summary
Magnitude Surveys was commissioned to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c. 17ha area of land at Rushden, East Northamptonshire. A fluxgate gradiometer survey was successfully completed across the survey area. The geophysical survey has primarily detected anomalies related to agricultural use in the form of ridge and furrow cultivation, drainage features, ploughing trends and a historic field boundary. No anomalies suggestive of noteworthy archaeological origin were identified. Natural variations in the soil have also been identified. The impact of modern activity on the results is generally limited to metallic debris and a trackway.
