Abstract/Summary

MOLA (Museum of London Archaeology) was commissioned by Northampton Football Association through their architects K2 to undertake archaeological evaluation of land off Newton Road, Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire. Eighteen trenches were excavated. The evaluation established that the archaeology corresponded well with the previous geophysical results. The archaeology comprised a series of enclosures and roundhouses alongside a boundary ditch, the majority located in the northern half of the site with an area of burning in Trench 15 and multiple smaller ditches in Trench 12.
