Abstract/Summary

This report describes the results of an archaeological observation carried out by Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd on land at 2 Clipston Road, East Farndon (NGR SP 71604 84567). The observation took place between 5th July and 21st of August 2017 and the work was commissioned by Marrons Planning on behalf of Mr Richard Everard. Archaeological observation and recording occurred during the stripping of the house area and during the excavation of footings for both the house and garage. The aim of the work was to identify, investigate and record any archaeological remains in the development area. The observation identified no significant archaeological finds or features. The only observed feature was a layer of modern gravel and debris at the southern edge of the site. A previous dwelling and pond, both of relatively modern date and removed for the current development, had caused extensive disturbance to the area.
