Magnetic survey was commissioned to prospect for buried structures of archaeological interest at land near Trafford Bridge Farm, designated by the scheme as CRO1476. Survey was undertaken using an ATV-towed and GNSS-tracked non-gradiometric array of caesium vapour magnetometers on a non-magnetic platform. Good magnetic conditions were encountered, and the survey revealed two complexes of linear anomalies from different phases of activity. A set of about five linear anomalies curve in a sweep across the site and seem to have defined multiple former alignments of a road or similar structure and of unknown date. Various other linear fills radiate across this and again bellong to no known monument. A possible former headland and an adjacent field boundary both appear to be respected by ridge and furrow type cultivation or perhaps drains.
