Abstract/Summary

A detailed magnetometer survey was carried out by Archaeological Surveys Ltd, at the request of AC Archaeology Ltd, within 11ha of land at Preston Lodge Court in the parish of Little Houghton, Northamptonshire. The survey located a zone of positive linear, rectilinear and discrete anomalies that relate to enclosures, linear ditches and pits. The anomalies may indicate the presence of a possible Romano- British settlement within the north western part of the site. The survey also demonstrated evidence for former ridge and furrow and a number of land drains. The presence of pipelines in the western part of the site has caused widespread and very strong magnetic disturbance that may have obscured weaker anomalies of archaeological potential.
