Abstract/Summary
In October 2022, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of a proposed solar farm site near Gayton, Northamptonshire. A total of 72 trenches were excavated at the site. The evaluation identified a concentration of features in the north-eastern part of the site, corresponding to an area of enclosure-type geophysical anomalies. Associated artefacts were Iron Age and Roman in date. The remains of ridge and furrow agriculture were also recorded across the site.
