Abstract/Summary
In November and December 2023, KDK Archaeology undertook a Historic Building Watching Brief and Archaeological Watching Brief at Quaker House, 67 and 69 High Street (adjacent), Finedon, Northamptonshire in order to fulfil a planning condition for the development of the site. The renovation works to the building were observed following the removal of plaster and other features in order to identify previously unseen historic fabric. Little was revealed that was unexpected and no new evidence could be seen of any earlier phase of the building. Two foundation trenches were excavated to the rear of the property and a raised bed, including the retaining wall were removed. The existing buildings footings were partially exposed during this investigation. No features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological interest, with the exception of the foundations, were exposed.
