SNN116507 - Church Farm, London Road, Bozeat, Northamptonshire: Geophysical Survey

CFA Archaeology Ltd was commissioned to undertake a geophysical (magnetometer) survey across a c.1.7ha area at Church Farm, London Road, Bozeat, Northamptonshire. A detailed magnetic gradiometer survey was successfully undertaken across the defined survey area apart from a number of areas where mulch piles inhibited survey. The site was surveyed with a hand pushed cart carrying the Sensys MXPDA 5 probe fluxgate gradiometer attached with a RTK DGPS to geo-reference each datapoint. The geophysical survey identified large areas of magnetic disturbance across the majority of site most likely resulting from modern waste from the former Nene Milling buildings which occupied the site. Modern demolition material was noted across site.
