Abstract/Summary
This report details the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) on land at Main Street/Stanford Road, Cold Ashby, Northamptonshire (NGR: SP 465658 276543 The work was undertaken between 27th – 29th August 2024 in advance of residential development. Two 25m evaluation trenches and one 30m trench were excavated across the site, to cover the footprint of the proposed development. Two of the trenches were negative for archaeological features. Trench 1 contained shallow pitting and a small undated gully. All features were heavily bioturbated and thought to be post medieval in date, although a single sherd of medieval pottery might suggest a medieval date for pit [104]. The archive for the work will be deposited with Northamptonshire Museum Services under accession number ENN111606
