Abstract/Summary

This report details the results of an archaeological evaluation carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at Slade Brook, Glendon, Kettering, Northamptonshire (SP 85336 81009). The work was undertaken on 25th June 2024 in order to fulfil a Planning Condition for a proposed flood management scheme. Two trenches were opened targeting the west pond or ‘scrape’ in order to provide representative coverage as an initial stage of the proposed development. Excavation revealed topsoil overlying alluvial deposits overlying riverine clay and gravels. There were no indications of archaeology within the trenches. The report and digital record of the work will be deposited under the Oasis number universi1- 526332 with the Archaeology Data Service. Due to the negative archaeological remains the archive has been deemed sterile and therefore not deposited with the museum. Instead, the recorded data is presented within this report. The event number ENN111469 has been allocated to the work by Northamptonshire HER
