SNN116833 - HISTORIC BUILDING RECORDING FORMER TIVOLI CINEMA TOWCESTER ROAD NORTHAMPTON

A programme of historic building recording was required on the former Tivoli Cinema, most recently Sofa King at Tivoli House, Towcester Road, Northampton prior to its demolition. The building has had a number of functions since its primary use but retains many of its external Art Deco features beneath modern cladding. The significance of the building lies in its design and role in the community. The County Archaeological Advisor has recommended that a Level II Historic Building Recording (in accordance with Historic England guidance) should be undertaken prior to the demolition. The building was recorded in writing, graphically and photographically.
