Abstract/Summary
This report details the results of a Level 2 historic building survey carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) of barns and stables at Home Farm, Main Street, Ashley, Northamptonshire. The work was undertaken on the 10th of October on behalf of Mr and Mrs Tyler in advance of a proposed conversion to a domestic dwelling. The site consists of a brick‐built two storey former threshing barn dating to the second half of the 19th century. This part of the range had been partially converted prior to the present owners purchasing the site. Attached to the eastern end of the barn is a brick‐built range of two storey stables. The materials and style of the stables suggests a similar date to the threshing barn and is probably the same phase. To the south of the stables is a single storey open‐fronted barn or shed which is slightly later in date but is still shown on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1886. The digital archive will be deposited with the Archaeological Data Service (ADS), under the event number ENN111624.
