Abstract/Summary

Pre-Construct Archaeology was commissioned by Mr Grif Green to undertake a programme of archaeological observation, investigation and recording at 11 The Jamb, Corby, Northamptonshire. The investigations were required to investigate and record any archaeological remains revealed during intrusive works undertaken during the redevelopment of the site for which planning permission has been granted by North Northamptonshire Council. Despite the potential for archaeological deposits/features to be present the archaeological monitoring demonstrated that the site had been widely truncated by previous phases of construction, drainage services and landscaping. A small, undated ditch was revealed to be an earlier boundary, with overlying made ground up to 0.85m deep, and a soakaway, dated to the 19th century.
