Author/Originator
Date/Year 2024

Abstract/Summary

In plan form the building is typical of the Georgian period with elements of reeded decoration most typical of the later Regency period. Many other diagnostic features have been removed and some of the fireplaces are more typical of the early Victorian period. The cellar retains windows that are typically earlier in date and may suggest the presence of an earlier building above with the cellar as sole survivor. Later alterations are seen in the kitchen wall with a bricked-in arch, and an attached later service range including a cold store with slate shelves, and a bakehouse with bread oven and coppers for heating water.
