Title GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY REPORT: Land at Weedon Bec, Northampton
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2023

Abstract/Summary

A magnetometer survey of approximately 13.3 hectares was conducted on land at Weedon Bec and has detected anomalies of archaeological interest. The survey corroborated the location of a known redoubt and has also identified an oval enclosure, partial enclosure, ring ditch, possible trackways and other responses of interest. Numerous uncertain responses have been identified across the site. Some of which could have archaeological origins but the majority have likely been caused by agricultural and natural processes. Two former field boundaries have also been plotted along with ridge and furrow cultivation plus relatively modern ploughing. A service pipe is also visible in the south of the data.
