| Title | GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY: NEWNHAM LODGE FARM, CHAPEL LANE, NEWNHAM, NORTHAMPTONSHIRE |
| Author/Originator | Jonathon Smith |
| Date/Year | 2025 |
Abstract/Summary
A detailed magnetic gradiometer survey was undertaken for Rachel Brodie in connection with a proposed equestrian development on land at Newnham Lodge Farm, north of Chapel Lane, Newnham, Northamptonshire. The survey area totalled c.1.8ha. The site is in close proximity to a Saxon cemetery, which was exposed during quarrying in the early 19th century and the limits of which are not well known. The survey did not reveal any evidence of graves. Several linear anomalies were noted, which are believed to be due to agricultural features, and several positive globular features are evident, the origin of which is unknown.
