Abstract/Summary

A programme of archaeological observation, investigation, recording, analysis, and publication of works was carried out by Pre-Develop Archaeology within the garden of the Cottage, The Green, Ashton, Northamptonshire, PE8 5LD, between 29th – 30th July 2021; the works were commissioned by Ms Charlotte Lane and carried out by Pre-Develop Archaeology. Archaeology exposed during the monitoring and excavation of the swimming pool comprised features resultant from possible prehistoric land clearance, such as a possible tree throw, and a single mid-late medieval plough furrow. Finds comprised struck flint flakes and a single flint scarper and a few small, abraded sherds of mid – late Medieval shell tempered ware pottery.
