Abstract/Summary
Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd, was commissioned by Buccleuch Estates, who are supporting Scottish Power Renewables UK Ltd., to undertake an investigative programme of archaeological work to fulfil a planning condition regarding application (NE/22/00812/FUL). The application relates to proposed development at Brigstock, East Northamptonshire NGR 52.439385, -0.622374 (centred) (Illus 1) comprising of 7.2ha of land for use as a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), substation and temporary compound for a solar farm (Illus 2).The evaluation comprised of nineteen trenches each measuring 1.8m x 50m; a 3% sample range of the development area. All nineteen trenches were devoid of archaeological material.
