Abstract/Summary

Limited archaeological investigation was carried out in 1983 in the grounds of Brigstock Manor, to determine whether its origins could be dated to the late Saxon period. A stratified sequence was recovered indicating a succession, though not necessarily continuous, of phases of occupation and or activity on the site from the 1st century onwards.
