Abstract/Summary

An archaeological watching brief during housing development in the walled garden at Stanford Hall, Stanford on Avon, identified two phases of construction for the surrounding wall and its northern entrance. Within the garden itself pile foundations and introduction of soil to raise the ground surface has meant that archaeological remains were largely unaffected by the development.
