Abstract/Summary

A desk-based study and trial excavation were carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology ahead of proposed development on land adjacent to 47-53 High Street, Potterspury. Examination of historical maps suggest that the area has not altered since the 18th century. A single trench was situated close to the frontage of the High Street and a total of 33 trial pits based on a 6m x 6m grid were excavated towards the rear. These revealed remains of a pottery kiln, pits and ditches dating from the medieval period.
