Description

{1} A single trench was situated close to the frontage of the High Street and a total of 33 trial pits based on a 6m x 6m grid were excavated towards the rear. These revealed a pottery kiln dating to the early-mid 14th century, as well as medieval pits and ditches. The kiln was not excavated but a large assemblage of unstratified pottery was recovered, with baggy jugs predominating.
