Abstract/Summary

A first stage of archaeological evaluation by non-destructive survey was undertaken between January and February 1992 along the proposed route of a new access road serving Cosgove Lodge Park, Northants. The work was carried out by the Contracts Section of the Northamptonshire County Council Archaeology Unit and comprised selective geophysical prospection in addition to fieldwalking reconnaissance and the consideration of existing archaeological information. Particular attention was given to the area where the projected road crosses the scheduled ancient monument of Cosgrove Roman villa (county no Northamptonshire 119). It is likely that associated remains will be affected.
