Abstract/Summary
A desktop assessment supported by a programme of fieldwalking and geophysical prospection was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology for Pioneer Aggregates (UK) Ltd in November-December 1994 on land to the south of Iron Age and Romano-British settlement, together with associated field-systems. The evidence relates directly to a wider pattern of occupation of the River Nene floodplain. Evidence from the Early-Middle Saxon period is limited to a small quantity of contemporary pottery, and all later activity can be seen as agricultural.
