Description

{1} An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during a geotechnical survey of the former Walnut Tree petrol service station. A total of eleven geotechnical trial pits were excavated under archaeological observation and recorded prior to backfilling. Definite archaeological remains, comprising of a thick medieval soil deposit and a limestone wall, were recorded in one trial pit with potential; demolition debris from two others.
