Description

{1} Geophysical reconnaissance followed by detailed survey at Shacks Barn Farm, Silverstone, Northamptonshire in January 2001, identified a number of anomalies. Some were believed to be of archaeological significance. This included a number of linear features, which may represent past field/enclosure boundaries and ridge-and-furrow cultivation. Other anomalies are more likely to reflect geological variations, while some have been interpreted as resulting from quarrying and tree planting.
