Description

{1} An archaeological trial evaluation comprising one machine excavated trial trench was carried out by Northamptonshire Archaeology in April 2003 at the Roman station, Irchester (SAM County No NN83). The evaluation revealed the remains of the Roman town defences. A shallow gully of early Roman date, pre-dating the town defences, was also identified.
