Description

{1} Three trenches excavated in advance of proposed development. Three archaeological features were identified. These consisted of a pit/quarry pit (F1009) in Trench 1, a probable quarry pit (F1013) in Trench 2, and a robber trench (F1002) in Trench 3. A layer of clay-rich made ground (L1004 + L1011) was identified below a recently formed garden subsoil in all three trenches, and a further possible buried soil deposit (1005) was identified at the easternmost end of Trench 3.
