Description

A programme of archaeological building recording with observation, investigation, recording and analysis was undertaken at Westfield House on 7th September 2011. The works comprised the written description and photographic recording of a group of buildings located within the grounds of Westfield House, making use of survey drawings independently commissioned by the client. The farm buildings at Westfield House were built as a single integrated unit - a planned layout arranged around the north, south, east and west sides of a U-shaped yard. They were constructed of brick with pitched slate roofs and some architectural detailing, including diaper patterns and a pigeon/ dovecote at the apex of the south-west gable of building two.
